This Research and Project plan sets out the vision for the Fair Isle Demonstration and Research Marine Protected Area (DR MPA). This plan sets out the research and project activities and time-frames which will initiate and support discussion on sustainable marine management within the boundary of Fair Isle’s DR MPA. The Research and Project Plan will be used to inform the delivery of the designation order and additional conservation objectives. It presents research prioritised to deliver these objectives. The plan includes an evaluation framework to assess the progress and impact of activities on the outcomes and targets of the DR MPA.
The Research and Project plan sets in motion a plan of action for the next ten years and specifically the detailed delivery planning for the next three years. This Research and Project plan aims to be dynamic and should be adapted as and when the context changes.
The plan has been developed in collaboration with all stakeholders to deliver on the needs of the Fair Isle community, the wider stakeholder organisations, and the marine environment encompassed within the DR MPA. Any changes or reviews to the Fair Isle DR MPA Research and Project Plan will be consulted on with the Fair Isle DR MPA Steering Group.
